John Stevenson

Jeanette BrownJohn has worked as a housing professional for over thirty years and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing.

In 1997 he was appointed as Head of Litigation at Whitehead Solicitors specialising in housing law and anti-social behaviour working with over 50 social landlord clients.

In 2005 he joined North British Housing Association as Head of Anti-Social Behaviour and in 2009 developed a highly skilled Community Safety Unit at Places for People Homes managing over 3500 cases per year.

During 2006 he realised the potential benefit of using Restorative Justice in order to manage neighbour nuisance cases and in collaboration with Restorative Solutions created an approach that could successfully be applied in housing. That approach became the ‘proto-type’ and other housing providers are benefiting from this pioneering work.

John is a Director of Restorative Approaches in Housing Limited and a Neighbourhood RJ Programme Manager for Restorative Solutions.
